Madison Administration is expecting teachers to use
technology on a daily basis in their classroom to increase student engagement,
promote higher level thinking skills, integrate technology skills, and improve
teacher effectiveness. Technology should
be used by students to solve real world problems.
There are several different levels of technology being used
in different classrooms at Madison. Although
administration has high expectations for all teachers to be using technology
effectively, their main focus this year is for each teacher to increase their
level of technology integration, wherever that may be. Below is a link to framework that has already
been created to assess authentic technology use in the classroom. The Levels of Teaching Innovation (LoTi)
focuses on the balance of instruction, assessment, and the effective use of
digital tools.
The link will explain the six different levels of the
LoTi. The final page is a “quiz” to find
where you fall in the level of technology integration in your classroom. The goal is that by the end of a school year,
you will be able to move up to the next level on the LoTi scale. Please
take a moment to find your level and then leave a comment to share your
thoughts on the score and the framework.
You do not need to leave your score- this is for your knowledge
only.
